Britney’s Grandmother’s Destiny

Yesterday, I hosted a dinner for my girlfriends and we talked about everything. At some point, after one of our friends desperately tried to make us sing in a karaoke session, we started talking about Britney Spears. One of my other friends read her book and she shared that Britney’s paternal grandmother, was institutionalized in a psychiatric facility and ultimately committed suicide. In the book, Britney says that there is a pattern where men take over women’s power and she was trapped in that pattern. My friend, who also read my book Connected Fates, Separate Destinies and knows my work, told me she was able to understand what Britney was talking about with the family pattern repeating.

This is another example, that whatever you are dealing with, is not at all directly connected to your own life/destiny. You are part of a bigger system which is your family system. If the system does not find peace and therefore reconciliation, another family member will have to take care of it. 

In Britney’s case, her father lost his mother and then he did the same thing to his daughter. Since we don’t know the entire story, I won’t make any bold statements. But, we can look at what played out through a different lens. Was Britney’s father scared of his daughter committing suicide? Did he feel helpless with his mother’s health so he tried to control his daughter’s health? Britney’s middle name is also her grandmother’s name. Even though the impact is less than having the same first name, there is a connection.
