dying

One of my girlfriends is right now accompanying her father through his last few days. Despite the doctors saying it’s going to be the end very soon, her father is still fighting, still holding on to a few more days to be with Life.

It’s interesting, how at the end of our life, in front of death we can resist it. We have the tendency to blame Life but when it’s time to say Good-Bye, we actually think it’s too soon.

I also have the example with my father who survived Death knocking at his door three times. It's interesting to me since my dad has wanted to die since he was 20.

That relationship with death is ambivalent. We know that as soon as we are alive, we will die one day. It’s not a surprise, it’s part of Life. Yet, we still don’t want to admit it. We don’t want to face it.

I actually think death is a beautiful celebration of Life because our experience on Planet Earth has been completed and we are finally whole and complete again. We realize our presence is only a passage, a moment where we experience our light and shadow.

In Family Constellations, Death is respected and accepted as it is. It belongs in the family system – everyone has the right to belong.

We celebrate a birth, but I also think we should celebrate the achievement of a Life. It is bold to wake up every day and try our best again.

We should congratulate the deceased ones because actually, it’s only a next and new chapter.

Much Love,
