relief
The end of a cycle.
A healing that finally makes sense.
A rupture.
A new love.
A new child.
A miracle.
A solution.
When was the last time you felt relieved? When did that heavy weight just drop off your shoulders?
This feeling of “Damn life is good!”. The sense of breathing deeper again.
I love this moment in therapy when I see the relief on my client's face. There is a shy smile, but a very intense light in their eyes like the world finally belongs to them. That they found something within themselves that they never could have imagined.
I’m a witness of relief. And, I have to say I love it.
I, of course, know this feeling of relief. Especially for a control freak like me, it always feels damn good!
But I always wonder about doing the opposite. What would it feel like to stop the constant wait of being relieved and just let it go, surrender? Imagining how easier life might be, to not put my body into this constant rush of stress and anxiety.
Because, we know the drill. We know that in the end, everything is going to be okay. And yet we still fight against it. We still resist it. Because for whatever reasons, we want to be in charge, we want it to happen... NOW.
A few days ago, I talked with a healer and he told me something that made me smile. He said, “It’s not going to be like you want, so, stop. Release the need and enjoy your life. Because when you worry it's not going to be the way you wanted, you assume that means you won’t get it. Actually, it’s pretty much the opposite, it will be even better!”
People who trust relieve their anxiety. So for the rest of the year, I’ve decided to deepen my practice with trust.
Because, for sure Anxiety can take a break!
What about you? How could you gift yourself some relief for the rest of the year?
Much Love,
Marine Sélénée
